DEREK Powell

Derek Powell is a Director at Altman Solon using his 20+ years’ experience in the global media & entertainment industry, to help film, television, music, and gaming clients design and develop new operating models, improve performance, and implement growth and innovation strategies.

 

Derek was born in Cần Thơ during the Vietnam War and immigrated to the United States at a very early age. With his industry experienced in film production, content management and distrbution, he is helping others tell their stories to drive awareness of Amerasians and continue the conversation highlighting the importance of diversity and investing in future generations. 

 

Previously, he held senior leadership roles at Warner Bros., Sony, and Deloitte Consulting. He is an alum of the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program and holds a bachelor’s degree in astronautical engineering, with military distinction, from the U.S. Air Force Academy and an MBA from the Paul Merage Graduate School of Management at UC Irvine.
